THE PERFECT PLACE TO SEE THE REAL ITALY!

Wonderful accommodations to include modern bathrooms. Great breakfast of local products. Gorgeous setting in the Sergio Valley. Our hosts, Pepper and Rusty are hospitable, accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. Casa la Pace is conveniently located to access other areas by train. This was our third visit, and we still saw new places.

MUST STAY WHILE IN ITALY

Pepper and Rusty are the consummate hosts…. thoughtful, attentive, and generous with their time and knowledge. We came for a rest but left with new friendships. This is not your typical B&B! The accommodations themselves are exquisite. Each room is warmly decorated with lovely art, comfortable furniture and gave us a wonderful taste of a traditional Tuscana home. The beds very extremely comfortable, with window coverings that kept out all sun light….it was hard to get up each morning! The common areas, including a library and living room made for a complete home away from home experience. The Italian breakfast was simple yet delicious and filling. Sourced from local businesses to ensure a true taste of Tuscany, while being mindful of the environment. Evening meals in town were of high quality and economically priced. If you’re looking for a stay in one place vacation, or a home base from which to see the wider countryside you could not pick better accommodations. Easily one of the best, if not the best, B&B we’ve ever enjoyed.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

Immediately upon our arrival, Rusty & Pepper made us feel welcomed & valued, and after a week, like family. Pepper met us at the train station, and drove us to their home, which we really appreciated. From then on, we left them in charge of our week & are so glad we did. They showed us great sights & shared their insightful knowledge about the area, history & culture. Rusty introduced us to a variety excellent local cuisines. Their BnB home is historic with charming details & all modern amenities. Our 3rd floor room was spacious & comfy. The bathroom clean & bright. The view, WOW,…our view was of the castle so it was quite grand. These two are local celebrities in their small, charming village, so everywhere we went together we received a lot of very friendly attention. We can’t stop telling all our friends & look forward to going back sooner than later.

A WONDERFUL TUSCANY EXPERIENCE

Pepper and Rusty are the perfect hosts. Each day one of them took us around Tuscany seeing such cities as Florence, Lucca and 3 of the QuinqueTerre cities and exploring castles, churches, great food. We learned a lot about the area and used public transportation (trains & busses), which gave us a feel of the area. Each evening we dined at an area restaurant. Casa La Pace is a comfortable B&B at the end of a quiet street, walking distance from the bus stop and train station. We got to meet neighbors and shop keepers as well as friendly dogs and cats!

CHARMING VILLAGE, ENCHANTING VILLA, GREAT HOSTS-PRICELESS!

Casa La Pace is an enchanting 4 bedroom villa in a charming small village of Ghivizzano Italy. The residents are friendly and welcoming and believe me, there isn’t one that the owners don’t know! Pepper and Rusty felt like family by the time we left and couldn’t have been more welcoming. My sister, friend and I each had our own room and bathroom and couldn’t have been more pleased with the accommodations. The living room and library were an added bonus and were a welcome change after the hotels in Rome. Pepper gave us an amazing tour of Ghivizzano and its castle (home to many and even had a store!) and gave us the history of the villa they own. Rusty showed us Lucca and Florence which we went to by train. The love we now have for this region was due to our hosts love for the community they now live in. Each night we had dinner with Rusty and Pepper in local restaurants all with their own flair. I can’t recommend this area, this villa or our hosts enough. If there were a six star rating — this would be the place!

A SLICE OF HEAVEN

After 3 bustling days in Rome, arriving at Casa la Pace was most definitely a slice of heaven! From it’s beautiful views, comfortable accommodations and the very best hosts you could ask for. Every morning we awoke to the smell of fresh coffee and a “slow foods” breakfast which included fresh fruit, eggs, meat and cheeses and fresh bread Rusty would get from the local bakery. Pepper was a great tour guide and shopping buddy. We became his little ducklings following him through historic towns, Barga, Castelnuovo and his beloved Ghivizzano. With his incredible knowledge of architecture and history, Rusty helped us explore both Lucca and Florence. Every night we would join them for a different restaurant where we enjoyed local cuisine and Rusty would order us a carafe of wine and explain the menu. We loved every aspect of this trip and thanks to our most gracious hosts Rusty and Pepper for a once in a lifetime e experience!!!

WONDERFUL TUSCANY B&B

This was our second visit to Casa la Pace and it was great again. Pepper and Rusty are wonderful hosts and their B&B is a great place from which to explore northern Tuscany. We toured in the day and visited local restaurants for great food every night. For someone who doesn’t speak Italian, it’s a good way to enjoy Italy without worrying about a language problem as they are both fluent. Their home is almost 300 years old but beautifully restored in an authentic Italian style. Very comfortable and less than a 10 minute walk to the train station if you don’t stop to visit with the neighbors, which we usually did. We are already planning next years visit.

THE BEST OF THE BEST

A wonderful experience! This bed and breakfast caters to your every need when traveling internationally. They assist in trains, transportation, authentic restaurants, tours, etc… LOVE the owners and their knowledge of surrounding areas. Already have plans to go back next year and can’t wait!

ANOTHER GREAT VACATION!

My fifth visit with Rusty and Pepper was better than ever! This is the place where first-time visitors become lasting friends. These two creative hosts devote their full energy to making your stay meaningful, in one of the most beautiful places (and often underrated in the travel books) in Italy! I highly recommend Casa LaPace. You will not regret discovering this wonderful place to stay!
